SCHOOL GROUPS

A School Group is 15+ paying guests from a public or private school, consisting of students, teachers, and chaperones. The group must visit the zoo Monday - Friday, from March 18–June 19 and August 27–November 25. Seasonal hours apply. To receive School Group rates, your visit must be scheduled in advance.

School Group rate includes:
    • Admission to the zoo
    • Safari Wagon rides at scheduled times
    • Animal feed for each student
    • Educational talks presented by zoo staff

Back by popular demand! From Biology to Zoology. Campers may participate in a week long junior zookeeper camp or a one day workshop!

Learn what it takes to care for all the animals at the zoo, while working alongside an actual zookeeper!

All sessions will fun, interactive and hands on. This camp will focus on things like conservation, animal care, animal handling, enrichment and career information. In addition, the camp will incorporate some foundations of Standards of Learning (SOL) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

Sessions (8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.):

June 24- June 28 | (age group 7 - 12)

July 8 - July 12 | (age group 13 - 16)

July 22- July 26 | (age group 7 - 12)

August 5 - 9 | (age group 7 - 12)

Workshops (8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.):

Wednesday, July 17 -- Kangaroo Adventure

Wednesday, July 31 -- Fur and Scales -- Learn the differences between birds, mammals and reptiles.

Wedneday, August 14 -- Animal Enrichment, Do you know how to keep an animal busy for hours? A veggie ice cube will do the trick.

Time Commitment
Programs are a week long. Campers are to arrive by 8:30 am and are dismissed at 4:00 pm. Campers must provide their own lunch.

Maximum Participants
Six junior zookeepers will be chosen per session on a first come, first serve basis.

To reserve your space, a $50.00 fee is required and final payment is required two weeks prior to the camp start date.
